New York City/ Hurricane Gustav Evacuation

Since we had already planned to go to New York City for Labor Day Weekend, we went despite Hurricane Gustav. We packed up a car and left it in Baton Rouge and flew out of NOLA (Which was a disaster). The trip had been planned & cancelled so many times, we were not doing it again. We had a great time despite the bad news coverage we got in NYC. And despite the obstacles of making it back to NOLA after the hurricane passed. We took mom & dad all over to make sure they saw as much as they could...Little Italy, St. Patrick's, Rock Center, Central Park, Yankee Stadium, Chinatown, Times Square, Battery Park/ Statue of Liberty, toy stores, kid parks, and much more. Nick did awesome and Emily was good most of the time...she just wanted to get out of the stroller and walk with everyone else which was not an option very often. And she had a stomach virus flying back home which was no fun, especially for Dwayne who had to shop in the Dallas airport for new clothes. :)
